Gifts in Action
Jasdeep Singh (F'10)
"By fostering a network of conscientious student leaders, I hope to make an impact not just at Georgetown – but in communities worldwide."
Shenelle-Marie Wise (C'08, M'12)
"Without the support of donors, I wouldn't have been able to come this far – to learn from these wonderful professors, to meet these awesome students, to be part of an institution so dedicated to those in need and to educating the whole person."
Michael Donohue (M'12)
"Georgetown was my number one choice for medical school because its baseline – cura personalis, care for the whole person – fits best with my own upbringing and the professionalism I learned at West Point and in the Army. Being able to serve my country while providing medical care for others who serve is the biggest contribution I can give."
Apryl Martin (M'11)
"The scholarship means the world to me. I've walked around campus and cried because I'm amazed that I'm at Georgetown. Ten years ago I would never have imagined that I would be here as a third-year medical student pursuing my dream."
Meredith Ponder (C'09, L'12)
"These opportunities have opened so many doors for me. None of this would have been imaginable without Georgetown scholarships."
Laura Andersen (F'10)
"I know my parents are working really hard, and someone very generous – who I don’t even know – is paying to have me go here. It just feels like it has taken more of an effort to get me here, so I don’t take it for granted at all."
Scott Gray (C'11)
"I come from a middle class family, and Georgetown is a major financial commitment. My family worked hard to make it possible, and the Office of Financial Aid worked to make Georgetown – which was always my top choice – feasible."
Researching Alzheimer’s - What is Normal?
Dr. G. William Rebeck's research has been made possible in part by private donations to the Alzheimer's Research Fund, in addition to federal and other extramural sources. "In the last 20 years we have made tremendous progress," Rebeck says.
The Transformational Effect of Community-Based Learning
Rebuilding a troubled neighborhood starts with something even more basic than hammers and nails. It starts with an idea, then the planning to make it a reality.
Jesuit Values
A series of banners highlighting the Jesuit values of Georgetown University have added more than a touch of color to the campus landscape. The banners were made possible by a donation to the Office of Mission and Ministry.
Innovation in Health Science Teaching and Research
The innovative center opened in 2006 and provides a venue for students and faculty to collaborate on rigorous scientific inquiry and research initiatives. Fundraising for the center was conducted by the NHS Parents Council.
Alli Linden (C'02, M'08)
