Make your year-end gift to support memory disorder fellowships and help us unlock $100,000.

The Cavaney family shares your commitment and hopes to inspire even greater support through a special challenge match.
Here’s how it works: When our community raises $50,000 to fund specialized training for early-career neurologists through memory disorders fellowships, Red and Sheri Cavaney, through the newly established Cavaney Family Memory Disorders Fellowship Fund, will generously contribute an additional $100,000. Together, these gifts will support promising memory disorders fellows as they develop the skills and expertise to advance the understanding and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders.
Choose your impact!
One hundred percent of your gift today will equip talented and compassionate clinicians and researchers with the specialized skills and expertise to treat memory disorders. Please give generously!
Here’s my gift of:

Professor of Neuroscience

New Hope for Patients with Alzheimer’s Disease

Right now, here at Georgetown, an elite team of researchers and clinicians is pursuing research into new therapies for Alzheimer’s patients—experts like G. William Rebeck, Ph.D., an associate professor of neuroscience. While current treatments for Alzheimer’s can slow its progression, they come with considerable and sometimes severe side effects. Dr. Rebeck and his team are working to better understand the effects of these newer Alzheimer’s treatments. The potential impact of this research could extend beyond how these treatments are used today. If side effects can be better understood and reduced, treatments like these could one day be used earlier, with a hope of preventing the disease.

We need your support to keep this important work moving forward by expanding our ability to equip talented and compassionate clinicians with the specialized skills and expertise to treat memory disorders.

Fund Memory Disorders Fellowships

Your support of funding fellowships will provide early-career neurologists with specialized education, while sustaining and enhancing the Memory Disorders Program’s clinical and research mission. Fellows will gain cross-disciplinary clinical exposure by rotating with expert faculty physicians, pursuing scholarly research, and participating in memory clinics—developing the invaluable skills needed to diagnose and manage memory disorders.

Georgetown’s Memory Disorders Program provides hope and support for patients and their families, integrating expert clinical care with cutting-edge research.

Our multidisciplinary team works together to understand memory disorders, develop novel treatments and translate these findings to administer comprehensive care to patients.

Supporting memory disorder fellowships enhances our ability to deliver high-quality care and accelerate discoveries that improve patient outcomes. Please give as generously as you can so that we can make the most of this special challenge match opportunity!
