When Jan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she turned to Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she participated in a clinical trial. While the clinical trial worked in Jan’s favor, not all participants in clinical trials will go into remission like she did. With support from partners like you, we will keep pushing forward until the survival rate is 100 percent.

Your gift will support life-changing research such as that being led by Louis Weiner, M.D., professor and chair of the oncology department at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and his team of experts.

One promising area of focus builds on findings from a promising Georgetown Lombardi clinical trial for patients with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the most common form of pancreatic cancer. The trial, which tested an experimental therapy, showed encouraging levels of anti-tumor activity in several participants. To build on the trial’s momentum, Dr. Weiner’s team is launching a new body of work in hopes of developing a more robust understanding of how immunotherapy can promote the immune system’s ability to recognize, suppress, or destroy cancer cells.
