On March 1, 2018, Georgetown University’s Wall Street Alliance held its eighteenth annual Scholarship Dinner at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
Nearly 700 guests came together to honor William D. Anderson Jr. (B’88, L’94, Parent’16), the senior managing director at Evercore, and Michael Psaros (B’89, Parent’21), the co-founder at co-managing partner at KPS Capital Partners, LP, for their many contributions to Georgetown.
During the presentation, the alliance also recognized Rev. Joseph P. Parkes, S.J., for his wonderful work as the President of Cristo Rey New York High School and his steadfast support of Georgetown.
This year’s dinner raised over $1.9 million, the second-highest amount raised from all 18 WSA Scholarship Dinners.
Since it began in 2001, the scholarship dinner has raised more than $18 million in revenue which has been used to support 95 Wall Street Alliance Scholars. The WSA Scholarship Endowment Fund is now the third highest endowed scholarship at Georgetown in terms of principal balance and funds awarded to scholarship students.
In addition to raising scholarship funds, the Wall Street Alliance has raised Georgetown’s profile in the business community while providing opportunities for students and alumni to connect, network, and thrive.
The WSA has been used as a model to launch other Georgetown professional affinities including the London City Alliance, the Chicago Business Alliance, the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance, the Georgetown Tech Alliance, the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Alliance, and the Wall Street Alliance West.
