the university we are called to be. celebrating the campaign for georgetown

Dear alumni and friends of Georgetown,

More than 160,000 of you contributed to our Called to Be campaign. This outstanding expression of support by so many alumni and friends provided vital resources for our university’s most important priorities. You’ve made Georgetown more accessible; you’ve enabled our faculty to contribute bold new research; and you’ve helped Georgetown strengthen our place in higher education. We have tremendous momentum right now, and it’s our job to harness that energy as we build this next chapter.

With the historic strengths of the Hilltop, the growing presence of our Capitol Campus, the vibrancy of our global community, and our Jesuit, Catholic values, Georgetown is called to lead. We are called to serve. We are called to make an impact. You have helped us answer these calls.

On behalf of all of us, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for your generosity and your belief in what Georgetown can contribute to the education of our students and the needs of our world.

Respectfully,

Eduardo M. Peñalver
President

Georgetown concluded the Called to Be campaign on June 30, 2026, exceeding the university’s $3 billion goal and forever strengthening the foundation that allows us to answer our calling and realize new ambitions. Here’s what we accomplished together.
