Loyalty Society

Legacy Society Georgetown University

Loyal donors are the cornerstone of Georgetown’s success, providing the means by which Georgetown can carry out its mission of educating women and men in service to others.

In recognition of this important commitment, the Loyalty Society honors alumni giving to Georgetown with various degrees of loyalty—from our Charter members, who are just beginning their lifelong commitment to annual giving, to our Lifetime supporters, who have given to the university for 20 or more years.

Gifts of any amount to all areas of the university are counted towards Loyalty Society membership. Consecutive years of giving are counted by fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.

Membership Benefits

Georgetown University Loyalty Society members receive special benefits, including membership packages, early access, and recognition. Contact us at giving@georgetown.edu to request your giving history.

Qualifying Levels

Charter: 2-4 years of consecutive giving
Milestone: 5-19 years of consecutive giving
Lifetime: 20 or more years of consecutive giving

Georgetown’s fiscal year is July 1–June 30.

Continuing to make an annual gift after reaching any membership level (Charter, Milestone, Lifetime) is required to maintain membership status.

Georgetown University acknowledges student contributions through the 1634 Society, and alumni contributions through the Loyalty Society. These distinct societies enable Georgetown to recognize students and alumni in ways that resonate within their respective communities. While student giving is essential, it does not contribute to the eligibility for Loyalty Society membership.

How to Become a Member

Simply make a gift two years in a row. Alumni who have made consecutive gifts since fiscal year 2014 (July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014) are automatically enrolled. To sustain your membership and reach new recognition milestones, make a gift every year. To learn about different ways to give and to make a gift, visit Georgetown Giving.
